The ability to know exactly what your decorating project is going to look like is freedom. To be able to imagine a couple of different variations of your treatment and what it takes to implement them is priceless and beyond compare.

When I first started in the decorating business I struggled for years to make my clients understand what I was suggesting. I was drawing challenged to say the least. I am terrific at stick men but anything else leaves a lot to be desired.

It's extremely hard to explain to someone what you want to do if you can't draw. It is extremely hard for the person to understand what's going on if they don't have a visual picture to go by.

I hated to use the pictures in the decorating magazines because they are not true to life. They are manipulated and touched up to look good and often they are not even functional.

If you are like me you need a picture in your mind of what a treatment is going to look like and then you are copesetic. If I don't have that picture firmly in my mind I'm uncomfortable and queezy about it.

In 1989 Charles Randall changed all that forever when he introduced the Encyclopedia of Window Fashions. The uniqueness-and success- of the book lies in combining the presentation of 1000 illustrations with a truly encyclopedic display of window treatments.

No longer do you have to worry about what it's going to look like. The Encyclopedia of Window Treatments shows you exactly what your project is going to look like. If it has a tendency to sag the book will illustrate it. If the right side will not look exactly like the left side it will be in the illustration. If the treatment tends to wrinkle it will show the wrinkle.

Like I said before, the pictures in the decorating magazines are touched up and they also have a professional drapery installer spend hours dressing down the treatment to make it look perfect. The treatment will stay in that perfect condition until the wind blows or someone brushes against it. That's life.

Ever since I first purchased the Encyclopedia of Window Fashions it has been my constant companion whether I'm explaining to a customer or designing a project.

Thanks to the Encyclopedia of Window Treatments I don't lay awake at nights worrying anymore. I know exactly what the treatment is going to look like and what to expect in the way it hangs.

When you have your own copy of the Encyclopedia of Window Fashions you will immediately be able to see and imagine what we are talking about in the course. The Encyclopedia of Window Fashion is the definitive guide for window treatment and accessories.
